This was an open studio run especially for young people.

The welcoming, creative space encouraged;

  • expression

  • exploration

  • reflection

 

Young people worked alongside others of their own age in two taster sessions in November 2019


The Face of Mental Health

Galway 2020 in conjunction with Red Door Studio presented ‘The Face of Mental Health’, as part of First Fortnight 2019. This workshop explored the many different faces of mental health where participants were guided in a simple drawing exercise followed by group discussion.

October 2018

Creative Dialogues was a workshop designed especially for people with  dementia and their carers in mind. The objects in Galway City Museum provided the stimulation for memories, stories and new discoveries which were shared with other participants.

Social Inclusion Week

October 2018

Meeting in the Middle was a workshop in which people shared an experience making connections. This was followed by reflection and discussion on the topic of how we relate to other people and the world around us.

 Open Heart: An Exhibition

After working creatively alongside people using the services of Galway Simon Community an exhibition with a message of hope and acceptance took place in the Secret Garden café. A reflection on this experience can be read in the article below.
